Road Mobility Services and Drivers First in New Partnership for a Safer and More Efficient Everyday Life for Drivers
Road Mobility Services (RMS) and Drivers First are entering into a strategic partnership that will make professional drivers’ daily lives both safer and more efficient. The collaboration means that service and repairs can be carried out while trucks are parked at Drivers First’s modern rest areas.

"We see enormous potential in combining secure rest areas with vehicle services. When the truck is already parked for the driver’s legally required rest, we can perform the necessary maintenance. Our promise is to keep the wheels rolling – and this is the ultimate time-saver for both hauliers and drivers, while also improving road safety,” says Catarina Göthberg, Group CEO at Road Mobility Services.
A Unique Combination
Drivers First is investing in building safe, modern rest areas with drivers’ well-being in focus. In addition to secure parking, they offer clean toilets, showers, social spaces, and digital services. Similar rest areas already exist in Europe, but Drivers First is the first to establish the concept on a larger scale in Sweden.
Since drivers are required to take breaks according to driving and rest time regulations, vehicles remain stationary for several hours. With RMS as a partner, this time can be turned into a resource, as maintenance and repairs can be carried out on-site.
“The combination of safe rest and service is truly unique. Our parking areas should not only offer a secure place, they should also make a real difference in drivers’ everyday lives. With RMS as a partner, we can provide a complete solution that both professional drivers and transport companies are asking for,” says Gustav Jacobsson, CEO of Drivers First.
A More Attractive Profession and a Sustainable Industry
There is a significant shortage of drivers in Sweden, and creating a safer and more attractive work environment is crucial to attracting more people to the profession – not least women, who make up a growing share of training programs. For many, the choice of profession depends on working conditions, status, and safety on the roads. By standardizing the offerings at rest areas and combining them with services, the foundation is laid for a long-term sustainable transport industry.
"If the driver can rest in a safe place and at the same time know that the equipment is in perfect condition, we contribute both to a better work environment and a more efficient industry. The hope is that this will also attract more people to the profession – including more women – which the entire industry needs. This is an example of how we can grow together with our partners while making a difference for the entire transport sector,” says Markku Reinikainen, Group COO at Road Mobility Services.
Expansion and the Future
Just like RMS, Drivers First has an ambitious expansion plan focused on establishing locations along Sweden’s busiest transport routes. The partnership makes it possible to roll out the model faster and develop new services that meet the needs of the transport industry.
“We complement each other perfectly: Drivers First provides secure parking solutions, and we provide service and maintenance. Together, we create a scalable model that strengthens competitiveness and reduces costs for the entire transport industry,” says Markku Reinikainen.
